LT1 techies in here please.......

I have a friend wwith a 93 Z he wants to have the heads milled down to bump up the compression.does anyone know how much you can safely mill the stock LT1 heads down too?? He said he wants to run 11.5 to 12.0 to 1 compression. Any insight for him??

He could g .010-.020 safely and use the impala(thinner) head gasket. Steven

The 12:1 is kinda high for an LT1, its not a compression i would run personally...But it can be done

Much more than .010 and you have to have the intake milled to fit too. AT least this is an OLD rule of thumb.

I don't think he can get 12-1 without replacing pistons.
