They are alot cheaper if you can find them used. I got mine, with new coolant lines for $100 bucks!! Local too

Damn thats not bad at all...
if i dont find a deal and have to shell out 400 bucks how much more would a cam be with all the parts i would need? How hard would the install be on a cam considering i would have allllll winter to install it?

Re: Ls6 intake?

$100 is a steal. someone didn't know what they were selling apparently. It's hard to find one under $300 ANYWHERE on the net. I've been looking and still am.

Too bad you weren't closer. I just started a cam swap on my ls1 tonight. got it mostly disassembled, still gotta get the pulley off the crank, the timing cover and oil pump off, to get access to the cam. Then I'll do the springs and start buttoning it back up. Hoping to have it done by sunday evening

Mike,
If your not going to change the timing chain then the oil pump doesn't have to come off. Now if your changing the chain or pump ignore this.

Mav,
You'll need at the minimum:
cam
valve springs
pushrods
coolant
a way to hold the lifters up
new water pump and cam cover gaskets
new balancer bolt
additional pieces not necessary but accessable while you're in there:
timing chain
oil pump
Go to www.thunderracing.com and price it out.
LS6 intake swap will be way less money unless you shop for used pieces for the cam swap.
