Lost a friend in car crash

A friend of mine who was one of my younger brothers closest friends died on Wednesday morning. Michael Lapprich was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:06 a.m. crash in York Meadows. The news struck us on Wednesday morning. Some of you may have known him, he was a auto-mechanics student at WCC, he was only 22. He was a great guy and everyone who had the benefit of knowing him would agree. He was the assistant coach for the Ann Arbor high school hockey team. He worked for Car and Driver and he died when he rolled over a Nissan 350Z, he was the only occupant and the place he was driving was where they are starting construction on a subdivision. He was one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure to call a friend. Anyone who subscribes to Car and Driver magazine would have saw his face because he was in the viper that was on the cover a few months back. A few weeks ago he was over my house for a bonfire and we were planning on cruising after we finished my vette and he was going to fix up his third-gen camaro that he just got. He was one heck of guy. He was a good friend to many. I remember last year when we were at the sand dunes and I buried my jeep in 4 feet of water and it was freezing cold, he was the first to help out and pull the plugs out and let the water drain from the engine, he knew a lot about cars and hockey and was the type that would always help someone out. The funeral will be this weekend and a scholarship fund is being created in his name. He was a great guy and I hope he gets to rest peacefully in heaven.

I am extremely sorry. It seems as though the best of us check out early, and the rest of us are left here to agonize over the loss. I can relate with you on every level as I have lost two friends over my short 19 year existance. Both to drunk drivers... I wish you all the best, and I pray that you are able cope with this tragedy, I will keep you all in my prayers.

Everyone has to go sometime. It's just so much worse when it seems so early.
