Looking For A Scatter Shield.
Looking For A Scatter Shield.
Just as it reads. My dad and I are thinking of converting our racecar tranny from a 2 speed powerglide to a 3 speed manual. So we're looking for a scatter shield. I was looking at the Lakewood Scatter shield and it looks like the Lakewood Part # we need is 15000. It will be getting bolted up to our 406 and 355 motors. So it's for a Chevy. If anybody has any info. on one please let us know. Thanks.
BTW, I've already found them new, but was wondering if anybody had a used one.

Something like this ?

It's new, and I'd entertain a reasonable offer.

I had a Lakewood shield on my 500HP 70 SS396 Chevelle. With the long tubes and the shield the floor of the car got so hot you almost could not stand driving it on the street. It is better than loosing some toes tho.
Joe, How does 100 sound?
Chris, I don't think that heat should be a factor. It's going in our tube frame dirt track race car. So the tranny sits on the side of the driver instead of underneath. Also, he only has to be in there for 20 laps at the most. You're right though, it's definately worth having.
