I think you're making an uneducated statement about quality. I know the picture sucks, but it's beautiful, and works flawlessly.

But don't worry, I won't steal your business!
Don't worry about it... You’re not stealing my business... I am giving them away "Free" They are the same mirrors that GMMG uses them on all their Hotrod, Bergers and ZL1 Camaros. I'm glad you mirror is beautiful in your car... you just won't catch me with one in my car.

Sweet!

How does the mirror obtain it's signal for temperature? I assume the compass portion is self contained?

Hmm, well I'd like to see how everyone likes them, then if there is a round 2 I'd probably go for it

Jay, if you can give away over $1000 in mirrors for free, by all means, do it! But if it falls through, or demand exceeds supply, or others simply realize Magna-Donnelly owns (oh I kid I kid), I just might be there!

A temp sensor is placed near the front of the vehice, ideally in front of the radiator. That way the engine heat doesn't affect the readout. Then you run a wire through the firewall up and up the A-pillar to the mirror. As for the compass, there are different zones which can be configured for different areas. Like you said, it is self contained.

Hah, but Jay, I don't understand why! I really like my mirror, I got it brand new, it's installed, why would I want to give it up?

Do you want me to compare the two brands? They both are auto-dim, and have compass/temp readouts. Same features, right?

poolshark,
Does your mirror have lights on the under side of the mirror like the stock Camaro/Firebird mirrors? If you change your mind let me know... Its a nicer mirror. You can keep the old one for a paper weight or somthing if you want.
