Thumbs up Lets organize a "street racing" night

I was talking to my buddy who lives in indiana (and 2 doors down from my dorm)
he used ot work at this track and they had street racing night

no lights,- someone would drop a flag
no time slips
no track prep

it was basically a street race in a controlled envirnment.
i think it would be cool as hell. its like 4 hrs from flint, but i'm sure we can get a track to do it if me get some stang/ricer/vette forums in on it

I like the sound of that. If someone gets some dates and locations eventually be sure to post em up.

dont look at me
i just moved here, i dont even know where the tracks are
I say we plan it for early september though
there are tons of things going on in the summer
sept seems to be a nice time too
colder air and the ground is still hot
we'll need it without track prep

Trey, ask and you shall receive. Actually this race has been on the schedule for a few weeks now. Here are the dates, it's all at the Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, MI. It's at a track only 1.5 hrs or less from Flint.

All the other events for the year are posted up already for Mid Michigan as well. It's a very full racing schedule with almost twice as many street events as last year and several new formats. Hopefully some other stuff in the works as well. http://www.midmichmotorplex.com/events.html

Just go over to Milan dragway. There track is never prepped.
Mike at Ramchargers tried to do something like this last year. I don't know what happened but it didn't come together.
There are not many people who will go to Lapeer. They don't like late model cars. They come up with all kind of reasons why you can't run after you have paid to get in. If your car is stock then they will let you run. If you have anything that can run and make the old cars look bad they are going to tell you to leave. The pits are full off mud and dirt. There timing system sucks and you are treated very poorly. They just don't seem to like anyone who drives a newer car that makes a little power.
