Talking Let the games begin!!!

Well the 'bird is 2 feet in the air on 4 six ton jack stands.
I'll be starting the winter mods tomorrow.
1. Repair accident damage to Loudmouth and replacing resonator with a bullet muffler.
2. Pull torque converter and send back to Yank for inspection, freshening, and some additional launch RPMs.
3. Install complete QA1 drag launch kit.
4. Weld in the Wolfe subframe connectors.

I hope to be done by spring

Well if I was single, in my 20s, worked 5 days a week, and didn't have a life I could be done by the first of December.

But alas, that is not the case. I'm married (so I can't work on the car everyday), 50 (so some days I don't feel like working on the car), I work 7 days a week, and feel obligated to spend some time with the family. To top it off I'm **** as he!! so everything has to be perfect before I can call it done. Oh well, as long as it's done before the track opens I'm in good shape

Thumbs up

Al Why would you want those wasteful mods?... (In a jealous voice)

That stock engine LS1 is going to be needing a cage!!
Now I just need to get my lazy LT1 back over 100mph (Trying valvesprings)

Goodluck with the mods, Al and be careful! People keep having freakish accidents with jackstands. ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP, PEOPLE!!

Hopefully Dan Burke will post about a Lansing Area Dinner soon and we'll all have a good time!!

No cage for me. If I get to that point I'll run heavy or run at an IHRA track. I'm trying for 12.5s in the hot weather this year. Then 12.0s in the heat next year without touching the engine. Going to try to race the NMCA/NSCA meets that are close by.

Yeah that's a poser. Look at it this way the springs can't hurt
Maybe the Opti??

Yeah that's why I bought a good creeper. It's a lot warmer than the floor. And I have some heat too. Good luck with the heater
Thanks Denny, I'm always careful with suspended loads. It's called self preservation, remember I'm a millwright by profession.
I'd sure be up for a Lansing area dinner get together. Maybe even entice some of the West side crowd to join us

thanks Skip,
I've looked at these and they would be great. But, starting price $995 whereas my 6 tonners set me back a whopping $40 for all 4. But my tires are only 18" off of the ground.

Well it has begun.
Last Wednesday I took all of the tires off and put them in the shed. Then I wrestled the cat back off. Had a bear of a time with the slip joint in front of the axle because I had used a regular clamp and it crimped the 2 pipes together. I had to get extreme to get them apart. They're not as pretty as they used to be.
Then out came the driveshaft, DS loop, and G-load brace.
I went out this afternoon and put some kerosene in the 50,000 btu heater and went back under the car. 2 1/2 hours later I was back in the house with the converter sitting draining the fluid out into an icecream bucket. Tomorrow it makes the trip to the local UPS depot for the beginning of it's journey back to it creator, Yank.
Next update..........................when the spirits move me into action

Oh wait, the new Explorer is roughly $150 a month also...

Heater is installed as of an hour ago! Just need to vent it and off she goes! :warm:
