Angry Just Changed Opti And I Still Have A Bad Intermittent Miss And Some Rattling Noise

Well...just changed my opti and my damn stumble is still there!!!! Plug wires didnt seem to have any damage and the plugs are crap champions from guy i bought the car back from but none the less are fairly new. The miss is intermittent...it comes and goes at any RPM. It can come for a couple hours and then go away...but after i installed the opti today it just constantly did it when i got on it. Not sure what else could be wrong, correct me if i'm wrong but i dont think that it's mechanical if it comes and goes so other than that i'm not really sure, and ALSO IT NOW has some rattingling noise that i cant isolate to exactly where it's coming from, sounds like possibly water pump but not sure, didnt have this noise before install so now i have no clue, please help with some suggestions or ideas, thanks, also if anyone has any recommendations on what to do or who to go to or a shop to recommend for a decent price please help me out here
Randy

The notorious LT1 undiagnosable ignition stumble. My car has problems from 5900-6200 rpm. I'm afraid if I change the opti I'll have the same luck as you. I'd say try new plugs, wires and coil and see if that helps.

Did you have it scanned???? You say it comes and goes?? IF that is the case it is more than likely electrical. I have a severe stumble and felt like it was missfiring like srazy ...turned out to be a bad MAF sensor.I can scan it for you. Steven

unfortunatly, theres alot of possibilitys. could very well be dirty inj.s, faulty inj. harness/conn.s, could be sp. plugs even though they are relativly new, could be poss. valve spring or lifter goin out on ya too. you can put a vacuum gauge on it and see if the vac. stumbles along w/the miss. if so, then it may be a valvespring being weak. also, try swapping the coil for a known good one. these things are very hard to find when they are intermitent like that. check out the 02 wires, they might be rubbing on something and shorting out giving a bad reading at certain rpms/loads. seen that one before at work.

did it get worse then after the new opti? it is a new one right?

good luck

chris
