I'm racing!
This is going to be a first for me but I'm planning on racing at Ubly on Saturday. I'm really excited about it. Does anyone have any tips that could help me out so I can make a respectable showing?
Mark raced on Saturday and was very consistant in his times and mph's. So, now I want to do it too!
I'm on a roll - I learned how to do a burnout at the dream cruise and now I want to race. My list of mods is growing....

Yeah, go on the last yellow.. not the green.
go around the water box, do not drive thru it.
Do not turn your ac on while in the lanes
ttry different ways of launching and see what gives you your best 60' time.
reaction times mean nothing, unless your bracket racing.

Donna I can't remember if your car is a m6 or auto. If it is a auto on street tires pull around the water box when pulling up to the burn out box. You don't want to drive thru it on street tires. Back up to the water box and don't go all the way in. Put the trans in 1st gear. Brake torque the car for about 5 to 7 seconds to clean the tires off doing at about half throttle doing a burn out. Ease up to the start line while watching the tree. Make sure the trans is in Drive not overdrive. There will be two white lights at the top of the tree and as you roll into the start line one will light and then the other when you are staged (ready to go). Make sure you stop with both lights lit. If you drive thru they will red light you. Brake torque the engine to about 1200 rpm's to take the lash out of the drive train. This helps to keep parts from breaking on auto trans cars. Make sure you keep a eye on the tree it will turn on fast and move fast. When the lights drop to the yellow before the green stab the throttle and hang on. The track at Ubly is prepped good all the times I have been there so car should hook and go. If tires start to spin alot then let off the throttle about half way and then step back in. If track is slick then do the above but when yellow light before green comes on give 1/3 throttle for about 12 feet then full throttle. You will have a blast. Hope this helps. If car is a stick then post and you will have to do some thing a little different.
