I need a set of lt1 heads...or even 1 (junk)

I have a guy who does head porting. I want to get him a junk head to port and flow for me. He says he can do high 270s to 290s on the intake side and 190s on the exhaust with the stock heads. I told him to put up or shut up and offered to buy him a head to show me on. If it works out well, we may all have a new source for head porting. 2 week turnarounds, and around $400 labor....

Anyone have a head or a pair around I can get REAL cheap for this testing? Quentin perhaps? Bueller?

I'll be honest with ya, I'm taking the risk here to find out if this guy can be a benefit for all of us. Not looking to pay a whole lot. If you have an idea what you need, drop me an email or PM. I have a guy in Alabama offering me a pair, one good, one bad for $100 and shipping. IF you can get in around there, I'd appreciate it, because if nothign else it will save some shipping. Hell, I'll come pick them up from you.
This guy has a pretty good reputation, and he deos what he says he can do, then it'll be a a real nice source for everyone on the board...
I don't even plan on modding my lt1...I'm eyeball deep in my 1st gen stroker motor. I originally got a hold of him to discuss doing the heads for that. His prices were good enough to warrant asking about other heads...

Like I said, drop me a line asap.
thanks
Mike

Well Mike, I just happen to have a set of bare LT-1 castings in my basement that I was going to have Lynn at Kalamazoo High Performance port and then put them on the T/A. If this guy is for real and will give documented flow numbers back (somewhere in the 290 intake 210 exhaust with EXCELLENT low lift numbers) I would be willing to donate my set for science as long as I got them back.

There are no valves or springs or anything on these heads.

I appreciate it chad, but I hate to take them and not have them come out as hoped. Especially if you want them back. I think I have a set lined up now... I'll get them done and flow tested. If it works out well, I will probably sell them. Perhaps they'll be what you want and save you from having yours done We'll see
