My understanding of it is Wheelman wanted to buy Trey's motor, and sent a deposit for $1100. Trey then marked it sold and turned away potential buyers.

After some time passed it was discovered Wheelman did not have the money to complete the transaction. He was given the oppurtunity to resell the motor to someone else (which he tried to do) or receive a partial refund. The motor never got resold, and Wheelman wouldn't accept a partail refund.

At least that's what I got from reading the saga over the last 6 weeks or so.

Other than that I guess I'm not seeing what's wrong with Trey's post on lt1tech.com? I know a lot of people can't get along with Trey, but I don't know how a tech question like that could **** someone off?

Thats most of it, but now Trey is the one turning the deal around. Ryan (wheelman) told Trey he would buy the motor, and said he would have the rest of the money when Trey dropped it off like originally said. But now Trey wants all the money up front, then will supposidly bring the motor to Ryan. Sounds fishy if you ask me. Trey is an *******, thats all there is to it.

I've been talking to both Trey and Ryan about this issue for quite a while now, and trust me, I've heard the full story from both sides quite thoroughly.

Ryan gave Trey a non-refundable deposit on the engine. Ryan would then complete the payment, which would allow Trey to purchase his new truck and Trey would then deliver the engine to Ryan in the truck.

Trey refused quite a few offers in the meantime to pay for the engine in full, as Ryan had already put down the deposit. Ryan then had some financial problems and was unable to complete the payment. Trey offered Ryan a partial refund on the deposit, but Ryan refused it, demanding the entire thing back. Last I heard, Trey was still offering a partial refund, and Ryan was still refusing it.

Is it a crappy situation? Yes. Is Trey actually screwing anyone over though? No. He really doesn't even have to refund Ryan ANYTHING, as that's the whole point of a non-refundable deposit.

True, thats what a deposit is for. Just sucks that he can't deliver it then pick up the money. That would keep the miles off his new truck anyway....

Kyle, Travis, and Timberwolf - I appreciate you all tyring to state the facts as the way u see them, and ur entitled to your opinions of course, but I would rather have addressed this issue first, as it is my problem.

I was originally just going to PM those who were interested in hearing the story, but now that it is public, I guess I will just tell the rest of the details here.

Most of what Travis, Kyle, and Timberwolf said is true. I bought the motor from Trey, but i also told him, "I am 99.9% sure I will buy the motor as long as I don't run into any financial problems." This was BEFORE I sent him the $1100. IF I HAD known that the deposit was NON-REFUNDABLE, I would not have sent such a large amount. He should have also stated it when i said the previous line which I quoted.

He also said he would try and sell the motor again, which he didn't. He was unwilling to work with me in anyway shape or form. He knows I was in financial trouble, and he wanted to take advantage of it. For example, he sold me a fule pump and a driveshaft for another $100, he wouldn't even take the $100 off for those items and keep them for himself. He forced me to purchase everything, or nothing. He claims none of it was his responsibility. He created new deadlines for me to pay him out of nowhere when he knew I didn't have the money. I was even willing to take out a loan to pay back the rest of the $1300. He even made the deal to deliver the motor to ME. I told him I would pay him the $1300 when he delivered the motor, but he wouldn't even accept that. I refuse to pay him another $1300 without getting something cuz I no longer trust him in any way.

Finally, Kyle is wrong in saying I was demanding all the money back. I was willing to take HALF back, which is more than fair, bu he wouldn't even offer me that much. He has since blocked me on AIM, even though he was the one repeatingly IMing me, trying to force me to accept back a small portion of my money. I'm afraid now this is going to result in legal action on my part. I never signed a contract regarding any of this. I just can't believe someone would treat me like this.

I am in no way, shape or form involved in this, but if there is nothing in writing about the deposit being non-refundable then he has no claim to the money. I have been to small claims court numerous times over the years, and the lack of a contract means that one party can not make up their own terms as they go along. Your best bet is to take a day trip to Flint and to file small claims court papers. Good luck in whatever you decide.
