HELP!!! Need USB to RS232 Serial Adapter

I need this ASAP...I have one on order but it will take 2-4 weeks to get to me and I need to run LS1 Edit. Can someone help me out? If I can borrow one that would be great. Or if someone knows a store that would for sure have it that would be even better. Your help is greatly appreciated!

I need one of these as well. If you want, order 2 and I'll split shipping with you. It doesn't change whether it's one cable or 2, so it will save a few bucks...

Got mine at Radio Shack. Call and ask one around you if they have one.

Found this at Radio Shack...Reserved the last one.

Mike you can borrow mine anytime You just have to come over to this side of the state. I wouldn't mind ordering through the site if I could get it tomorrow. I could even take the second one to you (for helping with the order). Let me know...

Talking to the computer dept at Best Buy, Comp USA, Staples and Circuit City is like talking to my puppy. Except he at least responds with some sort of communication. They didn't even know what a USB to RS232 Serial Adapter was. Then they proceeded to put me on hold for 10 minutes while they went and looked for one. Don't they have a computer system that will let them look that crap up?

Your best bet is to look the stuff up on BestBuy.com

Then call the store and ask for that exact part

90% of the people that work at BBuy are clowns. I used to work there, I know

I purchased a new Belkin USB/Serial Adaptor. It didn't work. I loaded it, unloaded it, changed com ports, tried XP drivers, Win2K drivers, even Win 98 drivers, went to belkins site and downloaded the latest drivers. Nothing. I'm no computer dummy but this junk just doesn't work. I'm having to bite the bullet and purchased a PCMCIA/Serial Adaptor since those always work. Of all these people that got there's to work, either they never respond to say exactly what they did, or they respond and say "I don't know what I did, if finally started working after I unplugged it, plugged it in, turned the car on and off a bunch of times and it finally worked". My machine is a 2003 HP Pavilion 2.4 ghz 512 meg 80gig HD running win XP pro.
