Hey there people. I was just in Grand Rapids last weekend and saw a few modified cars running aroudn but I didn't see any performance shops. Dana and I have friends out there that we visit pretty often and I would like to poke my head in on some of the local shops.

Can anyone be of service?? TIA

 

Most people just stop by and use my garage! Currently it looks like a performance shop while I do some jackstand racing. Stop by next Saturday to watch the fun stuff go together!!!

Other than that there really is no performance shop in the area. Nothing like a Speedworks or APE to speak of. There are some good chassis builders in the area. Steve Morris Racing Engines is located over in Muskegon. The closest dyno is just west of GR in Nunica.

I usually get most of my stuff from Summit and our UPS guy just backs up to the garage and puts it away for me while I'm out.

Three more weeks and we'll be rolling the car out of Derty's Monster Garage. More news to come on that later!!

 

The only shop around here I'd erven classify in the performance shop category is Auto Masters. Its south of 60th st on Division.

They have a lot of stuff there but its nothing like Lane Automotive in Watervellit or however you spell it.

 

Just down the road a piece in Plainwell is E&D. I have heard that he has built some sweet hotrods.

 

Theres really no performance shops around but this city is home to some of the baddest and fastest street cars around. There are a couple of 6 sec street cars rollin around, people who live here know who im talkin about.
