Got the Rag started....video link inside.

well it took ALL day, and the job is still not done. The tranny crossmember dosent fit my turbo 350 at ALL Gonna have to have one made. But the top end was buttoned up, tranny cooler is on, tranny is bolted in other then the crossmember. Waterpump warning lights all work and are mounted. Had on problem with the neutral saftey switch being wired wrong, but made a quick swap and the engine turned. The TPS is still WAY off, and the IAC needs adjusting. She wont idle on her own yet, but man was it COOOOOL to finally start it and get to hear it. MAN this thing is loud Of course I played like good white trash and fired it at around 1:30AM and ran it for about three minutes. Figured it would be a chance to get back at the Harley guys who live down the street Anyway, Brad, my brother and Chris helped out a bunch, thanks again guys. I owe you all a ride sometime. We also got my brothers Firebird done enough to start it as well. The first video is of my start, and the second is of his car with open headers Enjoy, and thanks to everyone who helped make this thing work! You know who you are!

Freebird. . . . Quite the appropriate background music! Good to hear both of them running. At least kind of running!

weird-
when i started mine for the first time we had one guy pouring in the ATF while another guy was pouring in coolant

We also had the coil off for a while, to get the oil system to prime and all that stuff-

you just "started it right up"

Well lets start with your first question. I used the electric waterpump and removed the thermostat and burped the whole system. Then replaced the thermostat and burped the upper half. So that is why there is no one filling that.

The ATF is being used as the tranny is only hanging on a jack, waiting on the new crossmember to finish it.

The engine was primed before it was put in, so everything was ready to go, no need to do the coil deal.

Why do you always do things the hard way Must be a New York thing

!EGR, Longtubes with true dual exhaust, 12 inch Mcleod clutch, with new fly wheel(we cooked it at M7) did the drill out mod on the slave cylinder, polished the calipers and also did some paint work on them, and put in a lineloc. He did some good mods, that should help him pick up a few Hp. Next year he wants to pull the engine and do what I did this year. My engine builder is EAGER to mess with a LS1

Q you are allmost there bud. The cam sound mean with the hedders uncorked.
Dans car sounds alot different also. You guys are about ready to kick butts and take names.
I am still a few days away from firing mine up for the first time again. It is just alot of little things now. I have one headers to install, reinstall the power steering lines, vac lines, wiring the MAF and alt, supercharger on the bracket, install belts, supercharger oil cooler and reinstall fluids. Then set the timing and change the chip.
Then I will have to learn how to drive the car again . There should be some good smoke shows. Going from 300 RWHP to around 450RWHP is going to be like driving a different car. Q you ready for some burn out contest?

Q I need a rear bumper for a 96 Dodge Ram Truck. Bright red if you can find one. Let me know.

After all the hassle of changing the plugs, you decided to change the headers after all huh? Glad to hear that its almost there.
