Re: got pulled over for speeding
I would show up to court, maybe the fat, lazy, slob won't show.
If he does, maybe he'll let you plead no contest and put it under advisement.
If so, no points, no record after I think 6 months.

Re: got pulled over for speeding
Am I the only one that read it and thought "Tough ****, drive the speed limit" ? Don't get me wrong, I speed too, but you're complaining because you got caught red handed and he wasn't going to give you slack? Maybe he was trying to teach you a lesson, or maybe every cop just shouldn't have to cut people slack just because they were caught red handed speeding. First off, you didn't mention it so I'm assuming you don't, if you plan to go over the speed limit on a regular basis, if you're doing it blindly and not using a radar detector in the car... well, it's definitely your own fault. Atleast the radar detector will give you some advance warning to slow down... even if it's a false alert. And secondly, just because people pass you doesn't mean you're going slow... it means they're the dumb****s that are going to get a ticket sooner or later and they'll be the ones crying because their insurance jumped some ungodly amount. Aight, now that I feel like the old father figure (I'm only 18...), I'll finish with the words of wisdom my dad gave me and I try to live by... "You have a cool car... that means unlike the other piece of **** hondas and rice imports, you don't have to go fast to look cool."
Re: got pulled over for speeding
def. go to court. tell them to truth, that you were following traffic through a road that everyone speeds on, and you just werent paying attention. but your still admitting fault. if you try to make up some story, they'll see right through it and maybe not feel so sorry for you. but if you just fessup, they'll likely take it under advisement. its like probation. if you get another ticket w/in 1 year, the ticket will stick. if not, it'll never show up on record. I got a speeding ticket not too long ago and they reduced it down to an impeding traffic which is a fine and no points.

Re: got pulled over for speeding
yea ive got no one to blame but my self...but still the fact is that i seen him have the radar gun out and people where passing me and i was doin about 50 mph in a 40.i was still speeding.im in the wrong to.but what im sayin is bs is that he pulled a teenager over and not some guy in a truck that was goin faster then me.....
Re: got pulled over for speeding
Don't sweat it dude. That "guy" in the truck gets his too. He probably complains that when he gets pulled over, the teenager in the camaro didn't get pulled over, but he did. Just roll with the punches.

Dont try to deny that the radar was reading 56. It was probably reading 56. Dont deny speeding. You were speeding. However, just like you said: It was heavy traffic all around you. Traffic was moving faster than your avarage speed, and that it's likely the 56 MPH reading was measured from one of the vehicles that passed you. Radar is a broadband device with no discrimination, unlike Laser which is a precision speed measuring device.
Tell the judge you are sorry that you were speeding, but that you were just following the average traffic speed at the time and you forgot. Then tell him that traffic was heavy that day, and that the 56 MPH radar reading could have been read from one of the vehicles that recently passed you. Tell him you think you are doing less than 50.
