Double post from the Lounge, but figured you folks know the area better...

I'm looking at buying a used car from WAY out of the area... near Grand Rapids MI.

Its an older Oldsmobile (1987) with the plain 307 V8 and auto. Would feel better about driving the car the 18-20 hours after a fresh tune-up. The issue is that I would fly into GR, pick up the car and go to a shop for a tune up. Looking to do the routine once over hitting the major players including oil, tranny svc, belts, hoses, flush-and-fill, plugs.... you get the drift. I'd do everything myself, but no shop or tools since it's out of town.

I have no intentions of doing any performance mods- this is a one day full tune up to ensure reliability for the long drive back home.

Anyone recommend a good shop in the south area down toward Wyoming or Cutlerville?
