Question Good canoe trips in the lower?

I went to Proud Lake today for some kayaking. Conclusion: Too shallow, slow moving current and crowded. I should of went to Grayling and ran the AuSable. Any other areas that has been fun for you?

TIA

PS I heard that the Platte river near Traverse CIty is cool and empties into lake MI.

Thumbs up

Sweet KJ I think I'm sold.

The family will prolly go next weekend if they have availability for a kayak/room.

I may be interested in joining you on Labor Day too. I'll let you know in advance.

Thanks for the great info! I'll definitly check out that restaurant!

Dude, Grayling and the AuSable River are awesome, you can really get moving on that River. And plus its always more fun when your with a group.

Also, you can rent Canoe's from Stoney Creek, its boring, but it can be relaxing and fun if your with a chick.

my favorite has been the ausable in mio 6 hour trip!
second is the rifle river in standish but it's slower moving you have to paddle more and the water isn't as clear. the ausable can be a bit chilly but good for late summer.

i'd like to check out the platte, i'm game for that, sounds cool!
WHITE WATER??? i might spill my beer!!!
