Getting replacement windows.... Recommendations?

Anyone out there do replacement windows? Or know of a good place to go?
The old house needs to get updated. The original ones form 1952 don't seal so well anymore.

Yep

I am regional manager for one of the highest volume replacement window installers on this side of the state. We don't get to Istanbul, but if you let me know where you are, maybe I can help you out

If you need information on brands, construction of the windows, options, etc, let me know. I have personally installed several thousand replacement windows and now have about 15 crews under my supervision, so chances are, I can help

Hehe... I'm in Hazel Park, which borders Detroit on the north.

I'm not looking to spend huge dollars, because I don't plan on being in this house for more than another 2-3 years. I was thinking about vinyl windows with the low-e glass and argon gas (or whatever they use). I have 6 double-hung, one slider in the bathroom, and two picture-windows.

Well, hazel park is further than the crews generally go, but I can do it myself if need be. To give you an idea, double hungs run about $375 installed and capped for Homeguard windows which are welded frame, low E/Argon, constant force balances, tilt in top and bottom, half screen, night latches, pvc coated aluminum capping for the exterior, etc. Slider price is gonna be pretty close, but varies a little more depending on size.

Thats for up to about 101 U.I. (united inches - add the width to the height to get the U.I. number)

And if you want to maybe work out a deal on the price, I'm always up for trading labor out for parts or services (That goes for you too D1Q) Labor runs about $100 per window.
