I got that one last week, only they substituted,Petro-Canada and Imperial Oil(Esso/Exxon)
Up here gas taxes make up over 40% of the price, one litre of water costs more than gas!
I think the goverment should lower gasoline taxes, after all they did nothing to deserve or get such a large cut.

If you want to lower gas prices, get the liberals and tree huggers to stop blocking the drilling for oil here in the US. We have PLENTY of oil that is untapped. We have a MONSTER oil reserve that goes untouched. Instead we have to import it from the same countries who call us capitalist pigs. go figure

I think its bullSh*t and we should be trying to do something about that instead.
every year they say they will go up past $3.00
Gov't wont let that happen "I hope"
And will the people that keep saying " No blood for oil" I'm sick of these arrogant people that think narrow mindedly! It's about removing a mad man from power, that could kill us and others in the not so distant future, in a nut shell.

There isn't as much untapped oil in the US as you think there is.
Lol, MONSTER reserve.

Ever stop and think that maybe that those against further drilling have a legitimate reason for boycotting it?
Don't believe everything you see on television.

And don't forget, Alaska is part of the US. It has been shown there is a lot more oil we could use from there is we were allowed to drill.
I know people have their reasons to keep us from drilling. But I don't have to agree with them. And those that do try to block the US from being a little more self supporting in its oil production have absolutely no right to complain about the prices.
And as a an editorial comment, I think the rolleyes gif needs to be removed. It's the equivalent of calling someone stupid, and doing it fairly bluntly, especially the way that you used it. If people rolled their eyes in person at each other as much as they do on the street, there would be a LOT more violence... It's a personal insult, pure and simple.

Lol, I never called you anything, and for the record, you came up with the mindless automoton name yourself. I simply stated that you shouldn't believe everything you see and hear on television. I should have simply said, don't believe everything you hear. Period. Especially from the government.
Also, you think we have massive oil reserves, when in reality, there is far less oil than the government would lead you to believe. In fact, if the US drilled into ANWR, and relied solely on the oil from it it would last approxamately 1 year. This is according to studies done by the United States Geological Survey back in 1998.
As for the potential impact on the environment, lets just say it wouldn't be pretty. Oil drilling has a serious impact on the environment, and especially in areas such as this. The ANWR is home to a very large number of different animals, not to mention, the proposed drilling site is in the very center of the largest breeding ground for Caribou in the US, probably the world. Even if they are able to drill in this area with a relatively minor footprint, the amount of destruction that could be caused by a major spill in this remote area, IMO, is too big of a risk to take.
Additionally, I lived in Alaska for the last eight years, and worked on the North Slope in Prudhoe Bay for four of them, so I know of what I speak. I have had first hand experience working for the big oil companies like BP, and ARCO, and I know how those companies operate and exactly what goes on there. Trust me, I would like to see my family and friends back in Alaska get the work, the US gain further oil independence, and have lower gas prices like the next guy, but the costs outweigh the gain in this situation.
As for the editorial comment about the rolleyes, I never meant to directly insult you, but I find it amusing how people think they know so much, or have a such a strong opinion I should say, when they haven't heard both sides of the story.
ya I agree we don't have a ton of oil like some estimates claim, I found this website taht has lots of good info. http://www.eia.doe.gov/neic/infoshee...onsumption.htm its says we average around 19 million barrels of oil consumption per day, I can't even imagine how much that is, since its such a large number. Our reserves are estimated at 22.45 billion barrels. Not sure what that beaks down to, but it doesn't seem like much considering how much we use. I can't understand why these arabs hate us so much, we are there best customer, you would think they would like us. Anyways we should charge crazy prices on our exports like food, to show them we can be A-holes too.
