Fastest LS1's
Fastest LS1's
Since my exams are over for this semester I was making up time by reading some good old car magazines and noticed an interesting article.
I was reading the April 2004 edition of Hot Rod magazine and they had a 6 page section about the fastest LS1 F-bodys. I was suprised about a few of the cars, I also thought Roman would have had the fastest 6-speed LS1, If I remember correctly Roman had a 9.94 et and the Hot Rod magazine says the fastest 6-speed car was 9.88 in the 1/4. Also 2 of the 5 cars listed were from Michigan.
Here is the rundown of times in case you guys haven't read it.
Fastest Naturally Aspirated:
9.65@139.21
from PA
Fastest Heads and cam:
10.50@128
Dave Whitten from Ortonville Michigan.
Fastest cam only:
10.93@124.96
from IL
Fastest Six-Speed:
9.88@144
Allan Futral from Walker, LA
Fastest LS1:
8.52@163.43
Ronnie Duke from Fenton, Michigan! And this was a convertible.
Just thought you guys might find this interesting if you haven't already read the article.

If I remember correctly, that vert belongs to the guy over at 1BadLS1 in Flint. I got to see it in person and believe me when I say it's bad-***!
The supercharger/intercooler setup on that car is way beyond anything I've seen before. Definately one of SSweetest cars I've had the chance to see in person.
