Dyno #s are in and not good...

Had the car on a mustang dyno at livernois and put down 227 as you can see but the guy said it was off by about 30hp so add 30? which be about 357 which still seams a little low for my mods. which are in my sig MTI X1 cam 230/227 .591/.571 on a 114, Ls6 intake, FLP LTs, TSP lid. With only the LTs and the TSP lid the car put down 334 at the wheels in APEs dyno. which would only be about 30 hp gain. any ideas

Every dyno is different. Their dyno is having some problems. I got mine back two weeks ago and it would only record up to 5700 rpm, when it shifts at 6550. They could not tell me what it did above that. So, I don't know what it put down, but they expect payment. The first time they dyno'd it was on the dynojet, the second was on the mustang. How in the hell am I going to know what I gained from my mods if they don't do it on the same dyno. I was very disappointed with Livernois. And there is more.

I would say you should be around 360ish+.

I would not be paying if that was the case.

yea im kinda pissed i paid $50 for "it to be off 20 or 30 hp" I pay for an exzact reading of how much power my car can put out, I can guess with the mods I have done in a "20 or 30 hp range"

Sure it sucks that you pay good money to get a half assed dyno reading but as far as I am concerned a dyno is only a tool used for tuning and as it has already been said they are all different from one another anyhow. The true show of hp is in the time slip you get on the return road. I think a lot of guys on this board will be more impressed when you post a slip in the low 12's not that the car made 400ish hp.
I could strap my relatively stock Trans Am to a dyno and with a few "tricks" make my corrected numbers look as though I made a 380-400 hp pull even though it only does in the 330 range.

Your true HP test will be your MPH at the track...113 is not bad and I'm sure you'll do better with your new mods.

we will see next wednesday what she can do. I picked up a set of 28inch (2in taller than stock)tall ET streets so i should be seeing a sub 2.0 60ft. Any idea how much thetaller tire will slow me down?

I agree the track is really what matters. You could always put it back on the same dyno and test it that way for comparisions sake.

If you put down the 357 on a mustang dyno...that is right around 400 to the wheels on a dynojet...nothing wrong with those numbers.

What gear do you have? 4.10 I'm assuming. You might want to make a couple runs on the 26" DR's for comparison to your old mph. Then bolt on the 28's. just my .02 Let us know how you do.

You should be good for 12.0-12.2 with sticky tires and your new cam. Let us know.

Re: Dyno #s are in and not good...

It's a known fact that a Mustang Dyno will show lower numbers than a Dyno-Jet. It's a great tuning tool, but doesn't give the numbers people like to see as the Dyno-Jet will. Livernois has both dynos and if you ever want to do a comparison on the Dyno-Jet it's normally there during the week, but rented out most weekends. I don't think 357 is bad for a cam only car on the MD.
