Thumbs down Does it **** anyone else off when.........

You post something for sale and people offer you less. There are some sportlines for sale for $150 and $100 was offered. I saw a 6LB Procharger FS for $2500 and someone offered $1500 ($1000 off!!). When I post something for sale thats what I want for it, not less. Why don't we start a fricken aution house.

Whats worse is when you agree to sell someone something for a hundred after you were asking 125.00 and they meet you half way and only have 80 bucks on them...

its like...why the f*#k would you meet me if you dont have all the money??? Am I obligated to sell it to you cause your there with cash??? I usually do just out of frustration but from now on im gonna say screw it and leave with my product

I totally here you bro... I hate selling stuff online latly..

Most of the time, if I am set on a certrain price, I will put the word "firm" in the ad. That stops people from offering less. If I leave that word out, then I am open to offers. I think it is just human nature to try & get something for less, although I do hate it when someone tries to low ball you.

if it doesn't say right in the post that it's firm, then i think you have no reason to complain about lower offers. That showing up with less money though is bull****. Would you go to a used car lot or even to another person and just pay them the advertised price? Heck no.. this is essentially no different.

Cool

First and foremost,I admit I am a cheap bastard. The money is better in my pocket than yours.I figure the worst they can say is ,No I will not go that low on the price.2nd I figure if they really want to move their stuff they will dicker a little bit.I am not talking about rediculously low ball offers either. The offer the prospective buyer makes must be within reason so as not to insult the seller. You can't tell me that when ever you have boughten a car that you did not try to talk the seller down on price and just payed the asking price???? The money would be better in your pocket than the dealers right?? I'm not trying to flame anyone here . This is just my humble opinion.

I usually mark the price up about 30-50 bucks higher depending on what I am selling. That way I'm getting what I want and they are getting what they want.

I can't stand that as well. What I really hate too is when people are selling a car with some mods on it and they say the "whole car" if for sale...the next 10 messages are:

I'll take the MAF if you part it.
I'll take the exhaust
I'll take the lid
I'll take the shifter...

WTF - read people, read

I have sold stuff using a variety of techniques.

I used to set my lowest price, then I would get lowball offers I couldn't accept.

I tried the price is "Firm" approach but this seemed to scare a lot potential buyers from even responding. Of course, there are some people that don't understand what "Firm" means.

I think the way to go is to leave a little room for flexibility in your asking price. You get more responses than the "Firm" ads. You will still get the lowball offers but can just delete them.

It's some peoples nature not to buy stuff that they can't get a "Deal" on. If you price a tad high, then come down, these people get their warm fuzzy feeling of getting a bargain. You get what you actually wanted and you're both happy.

Sometimes I will make a low offer based on how much cash I have on hand. It never hurts to ask.
