Re: Give Me Some Tips For Nitrous

save your money....by the time you buy all the safety bs you could have bought a used blower and made more power all the time. not to mention the amount of money you'll waste for the first few months purging the thing.

if you want real tips though just remember rich is safe...get yourself a good fuel pressure guage. electric is best so you can route it in the car. make sure you have a fuel pressure shut off switch just in case the fuel pressure does drop the nitrous will shut off to keep you from running lean and blowing something up. good fuel pump or an secondary auxilary pump would be a good idea.....i have a booster pump for cheap that would help you with that.

biggest thing is like i said making sure your fuel system is up to par, watch your plugs as you should run slightly colder but it isn't necessary if you keep your "shot" low.guages are the big thing...make sure you have them and they all work. other then that so long as your car is in good working condition you should be good to go.

figure on spending close to $1500 when it's all said and done....that's of course if you do it yourself.

Re: Give Me Some Tips For Nitrous

the pump i'm talking about is a booster pump. mine that i have is a ati procharger unit that you can purchase separately for $240 or they typically include them in a kit. i'll sell it to you for $75 just to get rid of it. you could also put in a nice intake walbro unit like the 340. i have it and it's very quiet and efficient however you'll spend closer to $350 for the pump and installation. the inline pump just does that exactly. isn't too hard to put in and will work well.

anyhow cover those areas you'll be fine. might want to get a tank of compressed air/water for your purging for a week or two. at $3.50 a lb it can get expensive fast...just ask steve.

*That intank pump is the way to go, if you pay more than $159 for a 340 your spending your cash in the wrong house.
*Next I would get a LS1 timing tuner for its "nitrous Retard" feature.
*Colder plugs
*For the nitrous kit go the NX efi wet single nozzle kit.
All of this can be done for way under $1500 and you will have a monster!

Jeff, I think he meant it would be less than 1500.

You could spend 5000+on a blower/fuel system + tuning if you like, but dont be pissed when you get beat by the guy with the $600 wet kit....

You should spend around 1000 for all the good stuff you need. We'll chat when I see you next.

FPSS comes to mind, as well as a window switch. If you are running this on an ls1 (which I assume you are) you will need a DIS window switch (I happen to have a brand new one for sale if you want it).

FPSS = hobbs switch, or fuel pressure safety switch. It interrupts ground if fuel pressure drops thus keeping it from spraying in a lean condition.

The Window switched run $86 from summit plus their $8 handling fee. This one is brand new, never opened. 75 shipped and it's yours.

Re: Decent N20 Kit? What Else To Get?

ah. now could i go with like a NX fuel pressure safety switch? shouldent matter right? I'll let ya know if i get the kit..and i'll take that Window switch off your hands.

Other then the FPSS, Window Switch, And that booster pump from kandiedz...and i should be all set ready to go?

Then i could always pick up a bottle warmer, and other things like bottle opener and such if i chose to.

yeah, any fpss will do as long as it is for efi cars.

bottle warmer is a nice thing to have, as is the remote opener/ both are options however and you can run without them (I did).
