Comment on my LT1 build!
Hey guys. I'm just gathering parts to put everything together. I have the engine completed and waiting to go in.
What do you guys expect from this combination.
Eagle street/strip rotating assembly .020 over stock stroke
comp cams 233/239 112+3 LSA .569/.577 lift w/ 1.6s
Pro mag 1.6s SA
Crane springs(dont remember part ## offhand)
Hardened pushrods
Cloyes Timing set
Heads milled .005 to true the plane
3 angle valve job and light porting w/ port matched intake
K&N Cold air/1LE elbow
Hooker LTs w/ 2.5" true duals dumped at axle
MSD Coil
Racetronix 42 lb injectors
Racetronix fuel setup w/ walbro 255lph
Taylor OVC Wires
Either Stock or Accel opti.
What about the MSD cap and rotor? Are they worth it?
Going to go with one of Ions tunes until I can afford a dyno tune
I think thats about everything. I may have forgotton something.
Do you guys think I can avoid upgrading the fuel pump for now?
What about the stock throttle body? Will I be losing power with it?
Let me know what you think about it.
It will be through an A4 with a 3200+ stall and 3.23 10 bolt.

well, the biggest prob. I see is the 3:23 gears. it'll be ok, but I know when I switched from my 3:73 back to the stock 3:42's it was alot diff. it took alot more gas to accelerate from a stop. thats alot less torque multiplication off the line. that would prolly be the first mod Id suggest as your next step.
the stock tbody will only hold you back any off the upper rpms. I got a great deal on a used 52mm and thats the only reason I bought one. Id suggest the same.
Im not a fan of the msd opti stuff. Ive seen alot of posts about the msd opti being not right. and I just dont like accel as a company. just stick with a GM unit. there's no power to be had there, and your not topping out the rpm potential of the gm opti anyways.
maybe the cap/rotor would be ok if your opti is still working properly when you took it apart.
get a 3800 9.5" Edge stall. you wont regret it.
my guess is 12.20's in good air with good tires.
11.9 with a 3:73 gear and 3800 stall.

do you already have the 42# injectors? Sounds like overkill for a n/a combo. Especially with stock heads.
as for waiting to upgrade the pump, I dont know what size pump lt1's come from the factory with; but I'd bet it wont feed a set of 42's properly.
Otherwise, sounds pretty good.

I can tell you a stock fuel pump wont feed 30# injectors properly at high RPMs. The 42# are overkill even on a 383 N/A.BTW it wont matter if you get a holley, accel, granitelli, racetronics,or thunder racing or a walbro pump they are all just a walbro.I would be concerened with your trans, convertor, and rear end and suspension, larger TB. Just to start with. The added power will expose any weak parts and then there is the task of getting the power to the ground.Yes you will NEED the TB and pump now. With that cam I think more head work should have been done it may not breathe like it should.I know you are trying to do this on a bugget so take your time ........rome was not built in a day...lol
