I had a similar incident a couple years ago.Pulled over for speeding while wearing my seatbelt. The cop gave me the ticket and I see the no seatbelt on it.I told him i always wear it and would see him in court. He scratched it off.It still ticked me off, because l always wear it.

Also on the downside if you ever review a video tape from a police cruiser you will realize that they are not like the ones you see on TV, most of them are very poor quality and wouldn't pass for a good camera from the 80's. Just know your rights and be polite and curtious when pulled over.

I've got a question. I asked the officer if he had tape of me from his car camera and he said yes. What happens if he "accidentally" looses it or records over it or something like that? Does it then becomes his word over mine?
Re: Click it or not, you still get a ticket.
They are doing this is just about every state. Luckily, they dont bother with seat belt tickets on the interstates. Just too many cops getting run over. I think they found a way to offset higher gas prices. I can just hear the commander say at the start of a shift, "If we dont get some serious cash flow coming our way, we wont be able to afford to run these cruisers, and may have to lay you off". I'm having T shirts printed up with seat belts and shoulder harnesses on them in a contrasting color so it looks like youre wearing it while sitting in a vehicle. The back will have in large letters: KEEP YOUR LAWS OFF MY BODY!

I hate when cops decide to pull these seat belt checks at rush hour. They do that on Long Lake at Rochester a lot at around 6pm. Backs up traffic for a mile when normally there's barely any traffic. Makes me want to "accidentaly" swerve to avoid rear ending a car and slam into the cop standing in the median... but of course I can't cause that tool is just doing his job.
While we're talking about police misconduct, my brother got pulled over on m59/Hall Road and Van Dyke in Utica a few years ago in his Chrysler Concorde. He was in the michigan left turnaround, light turned green and he drove through the intersection and then got pulled over. The pig (I only call 'em pigs if they are blatantly practicing bad judgement) said he was going 70mph through the intersection... put it into perspective... a chrysler concorde going from a michigan left (0mph) just before the intersection and then speeds up to 70mph by the time he hits the intersection? It's IMPOSSIBLE and he fought it in court and thankfully the judge knew enough about cars to know that it was impossible for his car to reach that speed and dismissed the ticket.

Re: Click it or not, you still get a ticket.
When I first moved to Virginia from Illinois last summer, I had to take a night school class.
One day I got pulled over *regular school cop that monitored the building and parking lot everynight* and the cop was like, I heard you were doing burnouts in the parking lot yesterday, I said can you prove it? He said, do you want to go to court and have people testify against you? I said I'm sure people won't go to court to testify against me doing a burnout, especially since it was at night and they could not identify who I am.
The cop gives me 3 tickets:
1 for not having a Virginia drivers license and as he noted, I did not have a VALID drivers license
1 for not having my front license plate
1 for not having my car state inspected
Now, this was within 2 weeks of having my car. I had not had my state inspection done because I have 30 days to get it done, PLUS I HAD gotten it done but was unable to get a sticker due to a big electrical problem that I have been dealing with. I had all proof of failure of inspection due to light failure etc., and proof of paperwork of Carmax "trying" to fix this reacurring problem. My front license plate bracket was cracked and I was waiting for a new one from gmpartsdirect.com, which I showed the judge proof of purchase and the estimated delivery time because of its backorder *I had the plate in my car*. And the last and best one, not having my "Virginia drivers license." The cop had told the judge, and written on the ticket that I had no VALID drivers license. Well for one, the car is registered under my mothers name, not mine, so I do NOT need to have a Virginia drivers license to operate this vehicle. 2, I had been there less than 30 days, so I do not need to obtain a Virginia drivers license. The cop told the judge that the car was registered under MY name, the cop thinking he can take advantage of some kid in a Formula is very wrong. I brought proof of registration. I HAD to get a VA drivers license then because the cop said if I don't show the judge a VA license I can have it revoked. My license was valid until July of 07 *my Illinois license*. The cop then told the judge I didn't have a valid license at all, I made photocopies of my license BEFORE I got my new license *because the DMV takes it away* and showed it to the judge, the judge asked where the license was and I explained to him that the DMV took it when I was forced to get a Virginia license. I also told the judge I am temporarily moved to this state to finish high school, and planned on moving back to IL.
The judge told the cop there was absolutely no reason to issue me any of the 3 tickets, regardless of the fact if I was doing burnouts or not, he has absolutely no proof of witnesses or tire marks in the parking lot. After the judge acquited all 3 tickets I was able to leave without paying a penny. When I was finishing up night school, the cop would monitor inside the building all the time etc., and he would always talk to this one security guard and constantly point to me.
I hate cops that try to take advantage of people. This cop never once asked me the reasons I had none of those things. Funny thing is, the idiot saw my registration, it was actually a temporary registration, which I also showed the judge.

Re: Click it or not, you still get a ticket.
i'm done with the bs. when my car hits the road i'm want to get video feed to my laptop. they can record, i'm gonna record. of course, i'm not saying a word until i hit court and show some video!
i think anyone who has the ability should start doing the same. it's getting time for citizens to fight back against those who use their power against the public, just because their jealous don't like loud exhaust or whatever. i have no problem with being busted for something i did, but something i didn't do! i'm gonna nail his butt to the wall.
too many authory figures abuse their power, it's time to set them straight by the same means they use on us!
fight fire with fire guys.
