Yeah, what he said. Chrome peels, Chris' work doesnt. And it looks AWESOME

Talking

no i'm not joking; your kidding right, chrome doesn't peel if it is plated right and taken care of....and "nothing" can compare to it's look.

i had chris do a set of wheels for me and they are beautiful....considering they were among the worst for him to do so far i was quite surprised. but, it still isn't as shiny as chrome.

polished look is nice but can't compare to the mirror like shine and luster of a good chrome job.

anyone????

One of the big differences between chrome and polishing is light. In the day time or sunlight they will shine about the same. In the dark or poor lighting chrome will look better. This is a fact.
Another difference I have found is front wheel drive wheels are harder to do than rear wheel drive. Some front wheel drive wheels are heat treated and then have a very hard coating put on them.
Chrome plating will peel depending on were it is done (because of what is used to plate) and how it is used. You can wet sand damage to a polished wheel and repolish. Chrome you have to replate.
On engine parts heat will discolor chrome. then will have to be rechromed. Polished engine parts that discolor only have to be repolished or wet sanded and polished. Like chrome headers and valve covers that are to close to the emissions. There are good and bad in both.
The bottom line is if you are making a show car chrome is best because you have to worry about light. If you are going to do alot of driving I would go with polish because it is easier to clean up and repair and cheaper in the long run. Just the bottom line.
Now I know Mich EPA law don't alow for the best chrome work. Cal has the best in the states. I don't know about across the river. Might want to talk to Taner or Roman. Just my .02

Thumbs up

Guys thanks for the recomendations. I was half asleep last night when I added to the thread. When I read it today I felt bad I didn't thank you guys.
I went out and pulled the a/c off the IROC today and installed some braided lines. I screwed up the rad hose and will have to redo it. All the others went ok. The a/c was easy to do because it was off when the engine rebuild was done. I sprayed everything down with WD40 last week. Now I just have to refill the rad and check for leaks. Talk at you later.
