Can someone reccomend a good Detroit area transmission shop/pricing question

Im looking at a complete T56 conversion package, but the Im told the tranny needs the 3rd gear synchro replaced. How much would something like that usually cost to have professionally replaced? The trans would already be out of the car, so removal and installation labor wouldnt be an issue.

Also, can any of you guys reccomend a good shop in the Detroit area-preferably on the west side suburbs? Ore would any of you be interested in making some money and fixing it for me?

Thanks

Check with Rodriguez on this forum. He's rebuilt a few now and he's on the West Side.

theres a shop in the gratiot and state fair area called Don's trans that does pretty good work. i got my trans rebuilt a year and a half ago there for $750, and its still healthy. although its an automatic trans shop chances are they do work on standards too, or can recommended you some place that does. honestly i would stay away from places like Multistate trans, they did a horrible job on my brothers 98 GT M5, and quoted me at $1800 for a rebuild back then. sometimes the smaller shops are a better value.

Thumbs up

Performance trans just did my clutch for 550.00 and had it back to me in one day. Pilot bushing looked like a bagel. They were quick and honest , which means I'll use them again for any trans work.

Performance Trans, Lincoln Park on dix.
