Can anyone help me install a Tranny Mount, and a Drive Shaft Loop before M7?
I think the only day we can do it is Friday night. My car is currently getting a new gear put in, and will be done (hopefully) Thrusday - sometime. I'd like to install the parts before M7....but I have no tools, room, and the know how to do it. I need someone to help me out.
I don't have much cash, but I'll put up $20 bucks to the person that helps me.
Milo.

Milo,
If you can't find any help before M7, just bring the parts to M7 as I will have my 2 1/2 ton floor jack and a bunch of tools up there with me.
I would offer for you to come down here to Portage and I would help you, but I am still working on my car getting it ready for M7 also.

I agree,... there will be plenty of jacks, stands and tools around to help out the day of the event. So don't let it slow you down if you can't get it in on Friday night. Bring the goods to the track and people can help you out there.

Where do you live? if you get in a jam drop me an email and I'll try to help you out, I live in South Lyon 48178. Its not a big job, the tranny mount will take 4 minutes and the driveshaft loop if it is a single piece you just need to remove the driveshaft and maybe the torque arm (depending on which one you have) takes about 30 minutes. If you have a 2 piece loop it takes about 5 minutes.

I'm just really nervous about M7. I've never been racing before, so the first time gitters are going on - plus my car is getting a gear swap (from 4.10s to 3.73s), and I will really only have ½ a day to learn how the car acts. I also need to re-program the computer....but I need time to feel when it will shift the best. 1 day is cutting it very short to do that before I go to the tack. I am also nervous about installing the parts at the track. I watned to do it before, to make sure everyting was working fine, and do some normal, low speed driving. I don't like the idea of installing new parts, and then going WOT.
I just feel like its half assed....it sucks, and I hate it when things turn out like that - but its beyond my control. Like I said before, I'm also really nervous, as it will be my first time.
I thank everyone who as offered to help me at the track. As its looking now, I will probably take you up on the install offers. I'll make sure to give you some gas money for the way home. I'll be the short dude, who looks 12 with a Silver '98 Z with a custom plate that reads: QUIKRNU
Thank you for all the support everyone.
Milo.
Just relax, take your time and enjoy the show. Being your first time out, you have the decided advantage in that probably half of your runs for the day will be personal bests when you pickup the slip.
Don't try to hit the home run on the first time up. Ease into it and get used to how your car feels on the track. It's a rush that keeps you coming on back. So have fun, ask lots of questions and watch the show the big dogs put on during the day. It's all good.

Yeah, just enjoy yourself, and ask questions. My first time I asked LOTS of questions. (thanks Derty). And I learned alot about my car. On the bright side you gear is being installed as I type this.
Sorry it took so long, but at least you can count on that part of your car. I promise it will be a good time.
