Broken bolt need help

I have a bolt broken in my block and space is very tight. I can't get a drill in there to use a bolt extractor. what else can I do?

Weld a bolt or nut or just a lump of weld to it so you can get a grip on it. Or borrow a angle drill. What bolt is it? Did you try a center punch as Triumph suggested?

Re: Broken bolt need help

there isn't much room, I tried a center punch and that didn't work. the bolt is sunk into the block so i think welding isnt an option. plus there is only like 4 inches infront so nothing fits. I think I might have to remove the engine to fix this.

Anyone have any other ideas or tools. The car is still driveable, just doesn't have an alternator I can take it somewhere if someone wants to try to weld.

Which bolt on the alt? One of the two front ones or the little mount in the back? When I went to do my lt headers install I found that the back bolt and braket were just dangling. It was like that since I bought it with no ill effects. If it is the back one, I'd just let it be.

Re: Broken bolt need help

its one of the 2 bolts holding the bracket to the block. with only 1 bolt the bracket moves around and the belt gets loose.
