84 chevy blazer..... big hole in the driver side exhaust manifold.... rust......and accelerates like a 3 legged dog......

But god is it fun to drive!

 

I don't have to worry about a winter beater this year cause I am living in Hell (Read : Phoenix AZ) But just for grins here are my old winter beaters. 95 S-10 Blazer 4x4 was'nt really a beater just a daily driver. My most trustworty beater I have ever owned was a 85 Subaru XT.Looked like a doorstop on 4 wheels was scoobydoos idea of a sportscar I guess.bought for $200 from my old Jr.High principal all it needed was a clutch. Put a clutch in it and a set of tires and drove trouble free for four years.Sold it before I moved out here for $250. That car had been through cornfields,ditches,down traintracks you name it,It would lay a set of J hooks like no tomorrow and IT NEVER BROKE!! I am a firm believer in Subarus now.

I bought "lt1cars'" 93 Explorer 4X4 and it's been good to me so far! Took it back in the snow the other day when we had an inch or so

Gas mileage however does NOT equal that of my 93 Cavalier 2.2 liter 4 banger 15-18MPG vs 25-35 MPG for the Cavalier...Ah well, it's much more comfortable!
