I'm going to be in the Detroit area on a business trip next week. (in Wixom, specifically) I'm going to be up there the 21-23 going to classes all day, but they end around 4 so I've got to kill time someway. It looks like Wixom is pretty small, but is there some place close by that I could grab a cab and go check out?

 

www.metrotimes.com <---Find everything in Detroit right there. Wixom to Downtown is quite a hike...renting a car would probably be a lot cheaper than a 50-70 mile cab ride... Novi and Ann Arbor are closer if you're just looking for restaurants, theaters, stores, etc.

just a couple freeway exits to the east is a whole shopping center complete with a buffalo wild wings, HOOTERS, movie theaters, 12 oaks mall. Im only about 10 min.s from wixom everyday at work, but Im pretty boring anyways sooo. no car to play with this year as Ive got it all torn down to put a stock eng. back in it. SEE sig.

 

I live just outside Wixom. Checkout Novi. Lots to do at night, bars and clubs (check out fountain walk) also the POST bar is cool.

 

yeah...I keep hearing about the Post in Novi. sounds like a pretty cool place, so I'll definately have to check it out. I just found out the hotel I'm staying at is right across the street from the Ford assembly plant.

 

The closed Ford plant?? That place is huge, used to make linclons but noone was buying them, so now it's empty. I live pretty close to there too, but like IrocSS85, I'm pretty boring, I mean it's 9:00pm on Saturday, and I'm on a message board....

I need to fix my car so I can get out more.
