Yea second Gen F-bodys have been going up in price quickly. My dad had his 71 Trans am appraised a 12 grand 5 years ago and just the other year(mid 04) he was told to expect at least 40 grand and that was sight unseen. So it looks like the trend might still be going up a little bit until it levels out(hopefully).Althought i highly doubt he will ever sell that car.

2004 was the year collectible car prices went crazy, just like in the late 80's. Especially Pontiac and even more so the Chrysler products. I got a friend who found an unrestored '70 1/2 Trans Am that he was about to buy, had the deal made & everything: Showed up with his money, and they guy up and says "his brother in law says the car is worth twice that" and sends my buddy packing with his unused check in hand, no car, no title. He was bummed, and the car still remains hidden in the chicken coop, where it's been parked for the last 25 years.

I wish they were easy to sell right now. Ive been trying to sell my '79 Formula since april when i got my '68 Camaro, and it has yet to go, even with a 455... i have thought about ebay...

the 70 thru 73's might be going higher but the plane vanilla 79 TA's and Camaros are still going cheap. theres always an exception but by and large the mid and late 70's f bodys are not real collectable yet.
