Anyone know fieros at all? Parts? Quentin?

I came across a freebie...an 84 Fiero. Not a bad car, manual trans, interior intact, decent black body. Problems are:
trans is stuck in 3rd...any suggestions?

Also, it needs a distributor and coil pack. Are there any of these things in parts stores anymore? Quentin, do you have any of these old cars around?

I knw how to get it unstuck: Tear out the whole powertrain and drop-kick it into your neighbors driveway. Then, buy yourself a Cadillac Eldorado Northstar V8 with automatic transmission, replace the rack & pinion with a panhard rod, and lower the car onto its new powertrain.

you'll average 30 MPG and make 12.7 second passes all day.

You seriously got the Fiero for FREE?

Hmmmmm..... >think< >think< >think< >SLAP!<

>whew, that was close.<

Dan, wow...haven't seen you around in a while!

Don't think I haven't thought about doing just what you said to it. If it was a GT, I'd actually consider spending the cash on it.

But it's just the ugly dolphin nose model. It's black, which is good though

Maybe I should donate it to the common good and all us Michigan folks could have a "mod fest/monster garage" weekend with it and see what we come out with

So how's your project coming along?

Well, I did just pick up this 350 from Skip....

I dont know much about the parts on them, but I can tell you this. That would be a great car to part out. ALOT of guys are always asking me for parts for them, and they are hard to find. You could make some nice coin if you did it right, and surfed the right spots. Personally that is what I would do, plus you will save us all the horror of seeing another one of the "Amazing Melting Cars" driving down the road.

yeah, they had engine fires. there was a big recall of over 120,000 of them

Where can I get the VIN decoded on this, anyone know?
I couldn't get the hood thing open, so I am not even sure if it is 4 or 6 cylinder yet It's still at the guys house who gave it to me.

I did find out out it is a 5 speed though

I just decoded the vin.. turns out it is an 87!!

2.5 litre psshhh oh well

Now to try and find out the lug spacing to see if I can use these old wheels:
wheels
They are 4.5 inch spacing, 14 diameter with 3 7/8 backspacing.

Another friend has those for sale for $150 with rubber if anyone wants them. Rubber is pretty good...
