Anyone here skilled or semi skilled at pouring concrete?

I need to pour a slab for an upcoming garage before the ground freezes. Anyone got any experience here? I've been building for years but have never poured a slab of this size....

Could I talk someone into helping for low pay or maybe some wheeling and dealing?

I'm looking at trying to get this done before the end of the month.

I haven't done any site prep yet because I am right now deciding what size building I want to put up. How much sand do you think I need for a base?

i believe it has to be something like 6-8 inches thick, but dont quote me on it. i helped build my old high schools new concession stand and that took alot of sand. and alot of time to grade it and level it. once you figure out how big you want it, call a gravel co. and ask them how much sand your gonna need.

The thickness depends on what it is used for. I dont know - my cousin does it for a living in the Flint area and that is what he told me.
