That is all that is out there ?? Has to be something better, on Woodward. $90.00 to sit in a parking lot that is not even on Woodward, no thanks ~ Jason

In reality its a prime spot and you can come and go as you please...your spot stays reserved for you and nobody gets in without paying so your spot won't get taken while you're gone cruising. And if you think $90 is a lot look around... most spots are $100-up.

This event has gotten out of control and the true meaning has gotten consumed by the all mighty $$. That is not in my opinion a "Prime" spot.
If it is not "on" Woodward it is not prime in my opinion. For the last 6 years I have had "Prime" spots and have yet to pay a penny. Something will come up,
it always does. Just thought I would fish a little. Thanks for your input ~ Jason

Gotta say that I have to agree with you on that. Thats why im not going to Woodward. Its more fun cruising the few weeks before the cruise so I'll just take it all in beforehand.

Re: Anyone hare any spots for Woodward ??

just a little info on the Motown WDC gathering.

The Motown muscle lot is rented from a firm that uses the money made for a hospital charity. This is the whole idea behind the WDC when it began, rasing some funds to help out the people in our area that need it.
Thats what dealing with "offical" event orginizers gets you
The problem is a lot of gready property holders that just pocket the cash for thier personal charity.. themselves.

I wouldn't bust the chops of Motown they are a Non-profit club that is playing by the game and this will be the forth annual gathering at WDC for the club....
...you should come out and look us over.

Re: Anyone hare any spots for Woodward ??

jeff makes a good point, while it isn't directly on the strip the location in its own right is rather ideal for those who are just wanting to make the event. the price while not necessarily cheap is a steal when considering most prices and true "ideal" spots go for well over $100 plus.

sometimes it's nice to have a spot for sure that you can park at with the freedom and hassles of not worrying. with the motown lot it's also more of a group of friends getting together and enjoying the day with everyone rather then just finding a spot.

everyone has their own ideas of how to spend the day their way, however for the money though it can be a really decent deal.

Got my "prime" spot, 13 mile, west side on the cementary lawn, on Woodward. Hope to see you there, look for the 1992 Purple Camaro Drag/Prostreet. Oh, and best of all it was free! ~ Jason

Re: Anyone hare any spots for Woodward ??

luckily that stretch hasn't really been reserved since i can remember. how did you go about holding it? unfortunately there are only two areas i believe where you can drive up on it so make sure you get there early or do what i did and bring some wood to get up over the curb. it's definately a nice spot but it isn't like being in front of dugans.

anyone going to pontiac this year?

I have a friend of a friend that has it reserved for a car club.Good to know people! When he heard I was looking for a spot he said I was welcome any time, helps he loves my car. They all have ground clearence problems like myself. There are two areas that you can access it from, if not the wood will come out!
