get the rear main cap from? anything 87 and newer w/the one piece rear seal should work. let me know

I can't help you with the LT1 block, but wait a minute...86 Iroc...red?...95 Z....white SS look-alike with different spoiler? If it's the house I'm thinking of, I drive by your house probably twice a day or so. I've always wondered why one guy would have a constant rotation of F-bodies in his driveway. If it's you, it would make sense now.

Then it might have been you that was selling that red 2nd gen Firebird way back when. I called on that car, but I recall it had a 305 and I was looking for a 350 at the time.

It was like:

Me: "Hey, what kind of engine does that car have?"
You: "A 305"
Me: "Ah, yea, I was kinda looking for a 350."
You: "Yea, I had a 305 laying around in the garage for a while, so I just threw it in that car"
Me: *thinking "Damn, he acts like an engine swap is no big deal, this guy must know his stuff" *

yep, that was me. that was my first hot rod. 81 formula with an L88 fiberglass hood. I had a big block in it, and wanted to keep the engine (and still have it). so I just dropped in the 305 so people could either buy it with that, or atleast see how it drives to buy it w/o an engine. ended up selling it for $2500 w/o the engine/trans. too bad I didnt have a 350 laying around at the time, I would have enjoyed having that car around the neighborhood. some guy from the east side bought it and never seen it since.
