I can remember the old rubber cupped phone modems. 200Baud, IIRC. We used to use it do do online searches through Chem Abstracts back in the 80's.
The forst computer games that I played were in college in the 70's; 3D Tictactoe and Hunt the Wombat. ......

I still have one or two 13" multiplatter disc packs (7 megabyte, I think) from Delta College's original computer, a 1968 vintage IBM 360 laying about the house.

Anyone want to buy 'em as conversational pieces? They have been following me around for the last 19 years. The punchcard chaffe bucket still sits in my garage as an active trash can.

 

HOLY CRAP!! I was on Scimitar!!! (I) I had NO idea that was you damn thats some crazy ****.. I went by "Wolverine" back then though.. What I wouldnt give for some more BBS action hehe ANSI BABY YEAH!@!

 

There I was 'Stranger' and Maddigit in most all online games. I used to even have a game server later when they were a ISP. They were located in the building next to Red Barron arcade in taylor, I used to go up there all the time and mess with people on the bbs from the main console.

Were you on Scimitar when we have all the Excelsior boards linked up together? I think it was (I)ndustry, Scimitar, Michigan BBS, and SkyNet. You could log on any one of those BBS's and chat with anybody who was on any of the boards.

 

Yeah I remember the linking, I had a friend who went by "Myself" and he would log on to (I) and I would be on Scim talking to him. I didn't mean to flip out, but BBS was a big part of my life for a long time (the fact I had no life didnt hurt either )

 

Shoot Chris i didnt know you had a life even now.....LOL J/k

So are you going to race that pig this summer or just let it collect dust?

I should have the 95Z out this summer hopefully. I'm getting married in May, and will have all the Wedding planning and savings over with for the summer this year

I was "Ponder" for a while.. man that used to **** people off because the could use my name as the first word

and "Draco"

 

I used to call a BBS in Wisconsin it was called The Pond.

 

I ran Spam BBS, The Boody Zone (I was 11), and The Twilight Zone.

I used renegade, iniquity, telegard, pc board (bad *** ppe's), and a pirated copy of Major BBS... impulse.. and just a bunch of stuff.. We had some warez but were mostly art scene related.. I had alot of custom **** from (33) eerie and halaster on Spam BBS.. Fatass graphics We also owned at BRE, and cheated like sonofabitches
