Any one looking for a IS/Tech/Support Job in GR? Opening Within:

My employer is currently hiring for a Solution Center Technician. Pretty much a helpdesk person. Job Posting is open to the general public on March 11, 2005. I have no idea if any interals have applied as of yet.


Here is what they are looking for:

Primary Responsibilities:

· Provides immediate assistance in the desktop computing environment when possible and appropriate; purchases computer hardware and software; prioritizes calls based on standard rules; dispatches requests for assistance to level II technicians; follows problems through completion/closure; maintains customer requests and monitors and measures overall performance using the Call Tracking system.

· Maintains broad understanding of PC hardware and software, network and security configurations and standard software packages; supports administrative functions, such as invoicing and purchasing, as necessary.

· Acts as a central point for communicating/broadcasting information regarding existing or potential service interruptions to customers.

· Evaluates and recommends modifications to process for improvements; participates effectively in team assignments.

· Advances technical and business proficiency through formal education and project assignments.

· Participates and supports disaster recovery initiatives and change management standards and procedures.

· Interacts in a cross-team capacity to meet customer and organizational needs.

· Willing to participate in regular rotation of 24-hour on call support, including evenings and weekends.


Position Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
· 1+ years experience with desktop computing and software.
· Working knowledge of end user desktop technology.
· Good analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
· Ability to operate independently or as part of a team.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
