my buddy has a 94 Trans Am and is the 5th owner. His mods consist of SLP CAI and no cat, he took it to the track an ran a 13.771. Is this normal for an LT1 or is it likely that a prevous owner put a cam or a gear in it?

 

Well, my 94 with a CAI and no cat or muffler ran 13.21... of course I pulled some weight but if you assume a tenth for every 100lbs... that would still put me at a 13.4 or so with stock weight... I do have 3.73 gears. so that helps the 60' a bit when I could get traction...I am guessing the T/A has either the optional gears for the a4 or stock m6 gears depending on his equipment. If he does have a 3.73 that might explain a little more...

My car went 14.3 @ 98 with k/n cai and !cat but it had crappy 2.73's and 2.0-2.1 60's w/ NO wheelspin.

Changed to 3.73's, had pcm4less do powerprogramming, and added slp loudmouth and went 13.5 @ 103.5 with crappy 2.0-2.1 60's still.

I just found out my car had 22#'s in it with programming for 24's, but I'd think the computer would have corrected itself over the 7k miles I've owned it. Now I have 30's with 30# programming so I'm all set :-).

 

With a CAI and flowmaster muffler my 95 was
pulling 13.60 all day with a 13.48 best.

What gear dose a 99 M6 SS have in it?

I went 13.6 with a SLP CAI, march pulley and flowmaster muffler

this was a M6 convertible on a 2.0 60ft

I ditched the stock cat back, yanked all the seats and carpet and managed a 13.32@104 with a 2.0 60ft. this was with stock manifolds,cats 3.42 gears etc

 

all your LT1s are faster than my LS1!

and I can drive just fine.. it's the convertible top weight, 2.73 gears, etc

So you have an LS1 camaro to scoot around in and the 94 is a project car kinda thing?

 

yeah, the 99 drop top is mainly driven by the wife these days

 

My 94 z28 went 13.88@99mph with only throttle body bypass and no converter and a flowmaster at Milan on balding GSCs

i had to feather the $hit out of it to keep from blowing the tires off

I got stock gear and stock intake
