'86 Firebird back-halved
'86 Firebird back-halved
I am gauging interest in selling my Firebird project.
Tubbed w/ Moser 12 bolt, 4.56, 31 spline, spool, no rear brakes yet.
Complete floorboard removed, very strong frame and 10 pt. cage setup.
Hal Coilover and ladder bar rear setup.
The stock firewall and dash were removed.
An aluminum dash is in place but could use some "tweaks".
The frame and cage are painted black w/ por 15.
The body has fresh House of Color silver metallic, basecoat, clearcoat.
It needs a good rub out and is not a great job, but presentable on a racecar.
I have all the interior tin to finish the floor, it is all Alston pcs.
New Weld Draglite 15 x 14 w/like new Hoosier QT Pro 32 x 16.5 tires on rear,
15 x 3-1/2 Weld Draglite front runners.
The car is setup for BBC and turbo 400.
I can supply a new turbo 400 w/brake and reverse valve body if wanted.
I have the Hooker Supercomp headers for BBC.
The car is in the weeds and has a real nice stance.
I have like $12,000 in parts and labor in this thing but will entertain interesting
offers or trades over $5000. in value ( the trans would be a seperate deal ).
I am only trying to move this car as I bought back a '80 Z-28 back halved
car and really don't need two race cars.
I would really rather not be mailing out pics unless you're seriously interested.
You would be well served to see the car in person if interested.
Also, I can trailer the car to your location after any deal is done.

Re: '86 Firebird back-halved
Is the car done right? I do not want to cut up my 86 IROC and I have been kinda in the market for a different chassis. I have a 421 SBC and a T350 with over 700 rwhp on NOS, I have gone 9.41 @ 146 at Milan on a true 10" Goodyear, and the car weighs 3320 with me in it. What do you think your chassis will weigh with my motor and trans combo. I have ran in the outlaw 10.5 class at Milan and with my SBC on NOS I am allowed to weigh 2700lbs.
Re: '86 Firebird back-halved
I think it's done pretty well.
It is the 2nd car I've had done by the guy who did the fab and welding, and
the older one goes straight.
As you probably know, you really gotta see it to understand what you're
dealing with. I would probably redo the dash / firewall situation if it were me,
and the floor area by the pedals.
Like I said, you'd have to see the car to see if it fits your needs or not.
If you want to see it, call me @ 248-618-0666 during business hours and we
can set something up.
I was thinking of calling you anyway if this thing doesn't attract anybody,
as I may want to steal the rearend and ladder bar kit and retro them into the
older car.
My name is Mark Smith and I own the business so you can call anytime.
Thanks.
