4L60E to TH350 swap

A question for anyone who has done the swap into a 4th gen. What about the dipstick? Did you use the 350's or what?

When I helped Quentin on his car I noticed he has a Lokar billet dipstick in (IIRC) a flexible tube... I'm sure he can jump in here though and clarify.

Also, watch those extra tranny ears...they were rubbing the undercarriage in his car..

Thank you

Thanks Mike. BTW you wouldn't happen to have a fix for the selector problem I have would you? Mine only lets me go back to 2nd (doesn't even show 1st) and I hear that some others have the 1st gear option . I'd like to keep the A4 and I'm trying different things to get it to shift into 2nd on a hard launch. One of the things I want to try is manually shifting it but my shifter won't let me go down to 1st. If I can't get the tranny to shift I'm thinking of putting the TH350 in. Surprisingly enough though last year I ran consistant 14.40's with the stock converter and this year with the 3200 and having to feather it off the line to get it to shift right it still managed a 13.95. It would be interesting to see what it would run if I could get it to shift right on a hard launch and the 150 shot.

easy fix. pull the top cover off the console. The piece that goes around the shifter. If you look down in there I believe you will see a plastic "nub" that prevents the shifte3r from going all the way back into first. I haven't had the problem myself, but from what I understand you can just cut the nub off with a utility knife.

Yeah, definelty cut the ears off, they rub terribly and bothered me in the week I drove it. The dipstick you have 3 choices. Rebend a van style tube for a th350...major PITA. Buy a Lokar flexiable tube, which I did. Like it alot!! I also hear that madman makes one that works very good. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I have everything working including the the speedo. Although I do have some adjusting to do on it. But I have jumped every hurdle in a th350 swap. It is actually a pretty easy swap, and I love being in the sweet spot the whole time. Plus I was about to hunt the man who invented the 4l60e down if I burned one more up

Did you use the Lokar fire wall mount or the trans mount?

The firewall mount. But it dosent mount on the firewall. I have fabbed up a set of aluminum plates that allows it to mount to the AC lines. If you were to mount it to the firewall you wouldnt ever reach it or be able to fill it. I will get some pictures after I get it all back in place to show you. I havent even tried them out yet.

I think my high stall problems may be solved for the price of a Th350 swap or an OBDII conversion. There's hope for me yet
