I wouldnt care if I was running 18s, I would still worry about breaking the 10 bolt. I dont know how my 9 bolt will hold up either, so nobody is excluded from the grenade threat unless they have the 12 bolt or 9". I guess well just have fun and worry about getting home when the time comes.

If you go to www.9bolt.com you will see that the owner of the site has been running a big block and he's in the low 12's or high 11's now. I've been told many times that these are really strong rear ends so I wouldn't worry about it.

Jeff, on the other hand is running a stock 10 bolt with some big power and well, lets just say good thing he has a trailer and tow vehicle

heh heh, yeah i need to do something about that..............

just don't run dr's and you'll be fine........may spin and throw some lower times. but at least you won't break anything. my stock rear kept me in low 13's with alot of miles on her. i was also running street tires though.

I don't have a 3rd gen to take to the gathering but I have a TPI L98 in my 85' vette, that should count close enough, count me in. Anyone know how strong the rear end in a vette is? 6 u-joints.

The rearends will be fine as long as you preload the drivetrain. I have a 700R4 and launch at 1200RPMs and have never broke a rear end. I have had my IROC since new. That is 16 years. I have 304RWHP on a Mustang dyno which would be about 380 at the flywheel. On a reg dyno it would be 330 RWHP whick would be over 400 HP at the crank. You take the shock factor out by preloading the trans and the rearend will be fine. I can't wait to race a couple of you stroker guys and seeing what the difference is. I think one of you guys is at about 450RWHP so it should be a good race as long as you are not using a power adder. I think the supercharger will get us very close on HP. I won't name names tho. I will let you tell when you are ready.
The Vette is a TPI car and should be more than welcome. The rear end in the Vette will be fine.

One of my goals this summer is to cut a 1.80 60 ft, so thats the only reason why I was worried. Running 1.9-2.0 60fts is cake for these cars....but I hear some that arent so lucky. Luck of the draw I guess.

it's no different then your stoplight adventures so long as your running real street tires (not dr's or street et's) and preload the rear you'll be fine.

worse comes to worse i know the guys who will have trailers would be happy to help in an emergency.
