3rd gen guys:Interest in track gathering?

I was thinking maybe a bunch of us with 3rd gens can get together maybe in late May-early June and go to Ubly Dragway. I personally like the track and the people there and think it would make for a good time.

Lets hear some input and see what we can make of it.

We could do that too, but I like the way Ubly's track is prepped and they have less people meaning more track time

We could also put together a Mid-Michigan gathering but I don't know if I feel comfortable driving my car that far... If it broke it would be a hell of a long way back home if I had to get it towed. On the east side of the state I know lots of people within driving range with car trailers that would give me a ride back. I dunno maybe we'll see how it goes at Ubly first then I'll decide

My RS isn't going to any tracks this year, unless I hit the lotto. I still need a better tranny, driveshaft, and rear end before I make any runs down the track. Not to mention I need subframe connectors, a new torque arm, a roll cage, and harnesses. Look for me late next year.

I am looking for another third gen BTW, looking for a 87-92 Camaro, daily driver type of a thing. At least a 305 and paint must look good, let me know if any of you guys see something that's not too pricy, I've only got about $3200 to spend right now.

I know of a 1991 Z28 350 tpi, 155,000 miles with weld wheels, et streets, and stock wheels and tires. Its got no performance mods but needs some work. It looks like its been hit in the front and half-assed repaired but it could be had for around $2000 and would need less than $1000 in work to make it real nice.

If you want the guys number email me.

I would be willing to go as long as my health lets me. I only went to the track 2 times last year. I used to go at least once a month over the summer before I got sick. Yes I want to go get some track time before the Z28 event. Looking to take a few 4th gens out at the Z28 event.hehehe

Mike like the new sig.
Mike Mid Michigan is a better track and has better track prep.
I like Ubly because it is close and is not bad for a small town track. 5 times better than Lapper. But then again every track in Michigan is better than Lapper.

Joe I know were you can get a 91 RS that needs some work cheap. Let me know if you are interested.

Man, I haven't been to Ubly since the summer of 1985.... Seriously!

If I manage to get the Trans Am put back together by mid-May / June it'll be a miracle... I have a rollbar & T56 transmission installation going, among other things.

hey Mike, I know how much it cost to tow a car that far. it was 120 mi.s from my friends house brighton to the track. it cost $320. but luckily my buddy has a good towing ins. and it covered the first $100. I'll never make that mistake again. driving it that far w/o a trailor to get home. it broke on me at M7. then it took me 10 mins. to fix it once I got it back to his house and I got the proper tools to do it.

but Im in for the gathering. depending on when it is ofcourse.

Maybe we can get some trailer hookups as a safety net?? Between all of us Im sure someone knows someone who might want to help out in an emergency for a little less than $320.......just a thought. Looking forward to all the gatherings to come though.

Chris send me the info on the 91 RS, crazy92rs@hotmail.com

I may be able to bring my truck and a trailer, I was kinda hoping to drive my car out for everyone to see though, but you'll all see it eventually.
