Yes, the recall is for 3800 V6. The recall is not a big deal, as it replaces the valve cover gaskets, and is voluntary on GM's part, not government mandated. This same recall came out for 3800 Supercharged cars a few years ago. The recall condition involves HARD braking that, in some cars (very few), deposits a couple of drops of oil on the left (front) exhaust manifold. The complaints originated from customers stating something was burning in the engine compartment.
This car has never had this problem, and I am unable to duplicate the condition.
Update: This car has already had the valve cover gaskets replaced prior to the recall.
