Seriously one of the nicest cars I have seen in a long time. You have a sick obsession with polish dont you?

How in the world do you have the time and patience to polish that much crap? Its awsome but I have to think with the hours spent with the car you will never get what it is probably really worth.

IMO anything under 20K is a waste of your time but its also going to be very hard to find a buyer for more than that... (what its probably worth) if you understand what I mean. The car is flawless and I wish it was sitting in my garage. I would invest in a private apprasial and see what they think. Seriously I would start it out in the 24k-28k range and see what you can get. I know you easily have that in parts and work into the car. Unfortunately you never get it all back.

Awsome car BTW, if I had the cash I would buy it in a heart beat.

Hate to say this, but parting it out will probably get you more money then selling it whole.

I would add up what you feel you can get for all the parts, then try selling it for at least that.

Why are going to sell after all you've been through? I thought it was finally running?

I hate to add to the negative post but your car is most likely worth less than kelly blue book due to the mods. The only thing that devalues a car more is to make it into a race car. I would guess if you could bet back 50% of your investment you would be lucky. Sorry bud. If you want to sell it put it on Ebay (with a $25-$30k reserve) and hope for a foreign buyer. A few corvette guys sold their cars out of country. As a matter of fact my 95 formula 'vert got shipped to England a few years back.

Thanks! Any idea where to get a decent appraisal? I did a search and most that I found seemed shady to say the least.

24K-28K would be great! Just for making that comment, I'll offer you 35% off of the 24K price.

I've made a list of the major parts and parting it out will certainly bring more than selling the complete car...unless I can find a buyer in the price range that Brian suggested.
The biggest reason for selling the car is because my priorities have changed. It's a quick way to pay off some bills in order to get a mortgage. I would try harder to keep the car, but the last ~18 months have really drained all of the fun out of it. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few REALLY FUN moments on the way to/from work in the past few weeks....but it's just not the same.

"Investment"
50% would be lucky. I just checked Ebay and the listing fees are not even close to what I thought that they would be. For some reason I recall there being a problem with scams involving vehicles and foriegn buyers. How was the payment/shipping handled with your 95?

JB is definately right. It is probably worth more in pieces but if you can manage to find the right buyer you can sell it. The problem is that there may only be 1 right buyer and its going to be hard to find them. Put it on Ebay and see what peple say. Set a reserve for $25k and just see what it brings for bids.

I dont know where to get an appraisal but my guess would be to start with your insurance company r call a insurance firm who deals with collector cars and what not. Someone like Condon and Skelly and I bet they can point you in the right direction.

What do you think its worth? Personally I know what it takes to make it look like that and its a ton of time and energy. I wouldnt take less than 20 for it, but if your best offer is 15... then the market says its worth 15... With as clean as it is you should do ok if you advertise in the right places. check out all the old car shoppers and what not.

Matt,
I sold my car on ebay to a guy in England. I was sent cashiers check for the full amount. I cashed the check and waited to make sure it cleared. I think it was a month before the car was picked up. The buyer made all the travel arrangements. Only scarey thing for me was giving the car, keys, and title to 2 guys who handled the transport from Douglassville to NYC. Those guys were scarey and had no real paper work. Turned out ok. The cost for ebay wasn't too bad. For a car it's a flat fee and not a percentage. The car went for $8K USA dollars. I don't know what the boat ride cost. The buyer finally got the car like 6 months after I cashed the check.
