Santa dropped off a pair of brand new ET street DRs and a Line Lock kit.
I was definitely surprised and quite pleased!!!

If I could get time to put the car together, I would be very happy. My actual 2007 goal is to be able to drive the car around the block. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

I'm sure we can a few hands to help! Just pick a weekend and list everything that needs to be done so Ron can calculate the amount of beer needed.

Hahahaha...I'm not sure enough beer can be brewed to accomplish everything in a weekend.

I see you hurt the rear. I'm assuming you've made passes. How fast?

ET was low 12s due to lack of traction. This was on the nittos with 2K launches and short shifting but still trapping just under 124MPH. I know there is more! Once I get a stronger rear and some sticky tires I should be able to start pushing it much harder.

HaHa, winter project for which car? The 69 Z28 is still in the middle of the restoration but serious progress is rumored to be coming soon. The 70 SS396 just got a new clutch but needs some brake work, carb rebuild and ignition help but I'm not supposed to spend money on it(the money should be going into the 69). And I wanted to put a 3" dual exhaust on the 70 and I have half the parts so I will get the rest before spring. The 00 SS will probably slowly be modded as I find good deals on parts. But it's the daily beater now so it can't be off the road for any length of time. I also wanted to rebuild the VRO pump on the boat for next season but I have plenty of time for that.

Let's break out the calculator.

Remove k-member and entire front suspension

Install tubular k-member, HAL shocks, springs, tubular lower a-arms and stock uppers

Install motor

Install clutch

Install trans

Install headers & exhaust

Drop rear

Drop gas tank

Install sumped tank

Install 9"

These are the major items. We all know there are tons of other "support" projects and details that come along w/ each one of them.

So is the motor already out? Is so then a lot of your things can be done together...

If time works out in my schedule I wouldn't mind helping anyone out, I like working on cars, especially other peoples so I don't have the stress of getting it back together to get to work on Monday, they do...

Then again with that kinda work I don't see this as your DD...

Hell no it's not my DD. They way life has worked out w/ this car I can't even say it's been a yearly driver. How many '95TA's do you know of w/ only 18,000 miles on them? BTW, it only had 16,900 on when I bought the car in '98.

Yeah, the motor is already out. What happened was I took the car apart in fall of '04 w/ the expectation that my buddy would have the motor built by April of '05. Well, he didn't get the motor built until Oct of '05. In the meantime my wife and I moved and had a we had a baby in April of this year. I just need time to work on the car. I'll get to it and then it'll all be good.

Woho! sounds like a Keg party at Steve's!

And by the way, sounds like you're going to need a cage in that thing! let me know, I have connections on getting then installed.

John,

I'm hoping for damn close to 11.50s on the motor. I've got enough nitrous for a two stage 250 shot. On the jug I'd like to get as close to 10.0 or 135mph as possible. I bought a lot of parts from Dave's car so I have the support components in place to abuse it. I really don't want to put a 10pt cage in it. If I have to, I'll put a custom six pt in it, but that's it.

124mph in your car...NICE!!! The hp is definitely there for 10s runs. It sounds like the car is making over 500 hp. Have you had any issues w/ the Electromotive SDI? I bought one to eliminate the opti.

Later,

Steve.

Hmm maybe new stereo that i have sitting here, some new appearence mods, cleaning up the engine bay maybe some more, interior stuff here and there... mostly installing all the stuff i have sitting here will do alot of that lol. Really thinking about a nitrous kit till i redo the motor. I might try over this winter/summer start buying stuff for the new motor not sure yet though. Maybe finding some help with installing anything i cant do myself LOL.
