Where to stay near Englishtown?

I need some advice from you local guys. Any hints about a good motel near the track in Englishtown? Price isn't crucial, someplace near the I-287 with good parking access for a trailer and a well lit lot and hopefully where the car isn't likely to be stolen!

Jason Short and I will be coming down for the GMHTP Shootout and if anyone wants to get together for dinner/car talk on Sunday June 8th, it would be my pleasure to spring for dinner.

Gary and Dave stayed at a decent hotel when we went to SLP day in E-town last summer. It set back away from the main road so that might help the fact that you car wont be visible to some vandals. Maybe one of them can remember the name of it.

Dr. Krause,
I assure you i was not an insignificant child to my parents, particulary being such a significant percentage of their children and the first born as well as the only male.

I can assure you tution bills are more than inignificant as are my insurance bills.

However, I hope this does not discourage you from stopping by for a cup of tea. I would be delighted to offer you a brew, spike it, kill your and steal your car, however current legal standards bar me from such acts- both age wise and morally.

edit:

hey Rich, there are quite a few places along 287 where you can stay. I can do a little homework if you want as to find out where. I am only about 10 minutes from 287, and about 45 minutes from Raceway Park. As far as some guys getting together for dinner/car talk on Sunday, im definitly in for that! Let me know if you want me to research a place for you to stay.

You must make a left off 287 exit 9? I had no clue there was a hotel around there.

Anyway there are some places on route 18, and I would suggest MacIntosh Inn, right next to a Denny's and an IHOP and also the mall, if that has any bearing for you. Anyway I suggest that because it's the closest hotel to the track (IMO) and I have seen them advertise @ englishtown, so I would assume bringing a trailer might not be that unusual.

Rich,
TNTHUB and myself will be cruising down on the 8th from Maine and NH respectivly as well and we'll be up for hooking up for some beers. Ted (TNTHUB) has some place he recommended as he goes to Englishtown alot as he races points all over the place. I'll have to find out as I can't recall where exactly it is.

I'll "E" mail ya as it gets closer so we can exchange cell phone numbers to make it easier to hook up.

Actually, I was kinda hoping to hit a titty bar if there are any around.

Hope they don't mind that I'll be trailering my Z down with a 2003 Ford Lighning (but what you gonna do as I don't own the trailer or the truck?)

Hey Guys: thanks for the responses. I am still frantically trying to get my car together and out for testing. I have had good luck at Embassy Suites in the past, but keep the suggestions coming.

Jason Short will be coming down with me, we would both be up for getting together. I am too old and he is too conservative (I think) for a t***y bar though

hey rich, i cant remember the place i stayed at..i will try to do some research and remember the place...but it was perfect.

it was about 10-15 minutes from the track, huge parking lot, right off the main road there and the rooms were impressive.

if i can remeber, i will hit you up with it...maybe gary will remember...but since i havent heard from him in a week, i am becoming concerned.

also, i guess the other gentleman with the SOM SS (juicedss) stayed at the same place as us.. wierd huh?
