anyone know of a shop in the area that can press out the motor and impeller of my 94Z stock water pump.im putting in a csi.ive tried a local gas station and they said they were afraid the alum. housing would crack,the dealer,and tried a midas.i called a machine shop and they said they dont do that stuff.can i do it myself?

 

It's not too hard to do, I did it when I installed my CSI this year. I just used a big center punch and a hammer, you have to whack the shaft pretty good from the back to get it to budge but it will come out. I was a little concerned about cracking the housing too but it was fine. If you are concerned about breaking your good wp you can always buy an old worn out wp, sometimes people sell them with the guts removed. I've seen them go in the FS section for around $40-50, or you may find one even cheaper than that.
