Jackie, 3rd round loss. Cut a .070 light,,, bye-bye. MOV lost was .005. I'm swithching back to shorter front tires to help my RT. I have 3 sessions at the Grove before ATCO race #9. Still looking to put the car into a final round.

 

yeah bad day for me. I have been having problems with starting the car... I thought it was tha battery. So on my way to the track I stopped and bought a new Optima and charged it up over at Ricks trailer. That wouldnt start it either so I tossed the battery from my truck in it and no good. The starter is just weak and wont turn it over. So with the help of a few friends we pushed the car up onto the trailer and we had a little contact. Yeah the front bumper cover cought the end of the trailer and it broke the bumper. But as Jim said... even a bad day at the track is still better that a good day at work.

I'm going to order a new LT4 mini starter tonight. I'll have it running somethime this week. The bumper will just stay broke till I find a good used red cover to replace it with. Its not all that bad. I can still race with it broken... its just cosmetic.

I think Rick was upset because he was joking about messing it up when we pushed the car on... and we really did,lol. Tell Rick not to worry about it... I call it battle scars .

I'll get some t-n-t in next week.

BTW, I watched Rick loose that round. Tough race... that dragster ran 7.98 on a 7.98 dial and had a good light too. Very hard to beat anyway you look at it.

 

Well Jim, I'm hoping to be there when you make it to the final. I'm sure you will - you have been going rounds ALL season so far!!

Brian, that sucks!! Ugh. Rick did tell me that it wouldn't start and then he told me about the bumper. He did feel bad about it too.

He said he ran a good race with that dragster. There wasn't really anything he could have changed. Unfortunately, this is a repeat of every points race so far - second round runner up. He seems to go rounds in the Tuesday night gambler's races though.

 

Jackie, you are oh so kind. I took my first round win time slip for Ricks option. "Jim, Jim, Jim, how much strip do you need to take".
I took .050, yea too much. But, I'm here to get better. Tell Rick thanks for all the help. By the way .050 is too much strip. That's 1/2 a car length. In my defense I lost to the same car at RP in the 4th round last year. I took too much off and gave the race back to the turbo v6. Dang little 11.60 6 banger.

Brian, welcome to ATCO points racing. Running the number is common. Not for me but common. Get the starter in and come up to the Grove this Saturday. If I can tow 2 hours to ATCO you can tow 2 hours to the Grove. The following weekend is double points at the Grove. Racing Saturday and Sunday. If you want you can leave your car at the track Saturday and stay over for Sunday. Your welcome to stay in our guest room. I would highly recommend some track time before you start session 2 at ATCO. Maple will give you seat time at 3 points races before ATCO.

Jackie, tell Rick that running at the Grove is just a fierce as ATCO and I like pitting on the "rocks".

 

I ordered the starter last night. Its wasnt in stock so it will be a few days. I hope to have it by the weekend. At the very least I'm going for some t-n-t next week. The following weekend I have a wedding on Sat, but I can come up on Sunday. Worst case, I'll just plop my but in the seat at Atco for t-n-t.

 

You guys are so hard on yourselves! You are both so new to bracket racing!! You have years and years to learn as much as you can.

Brian, I told Rick not to worry about your car last night and he said "but I felt so bad because his car is so nice." I also asked him about your new cage and he said it looks great! I don't know if he mentioned it to you or not, but that's something he has been thinking about doing on the side when I get into the house - did I tell you we're buying a house?? Settlement is June 18th and I can't wait! Oversized 2 car detached garage! Yay!

 

Jacki, if he can TIG weld he will make a ton of money on the side installing bars and cages. There is good money in it. I heard about the house... that is great news! Let me know when your in and when the house warming party is!

I'm sure Rick felt the same way I would have if it were his car... it suxs but what can ya do? Its not crashin, not bangin, not hitting... its rubbin, and rubbin is racing!!

Its cosmetic... nothing a new bumber cover cant fix. Now I have an excuse to pull it off and rip off all the weight from behind it.

Jim, I'm going to try to make it up there before the 28th, but if not I will at least get some practice in at Atco next week. You have to remember, youre going rounds against guys who have alot of experience and years of practice on a track just about every weekend. Your not doing too bad bro... and I'm only a few races behind ya.
