Update on "project SR355"
Well I have good news. The short block is done and is sitting in my garage. Here is the breakdown. 4 bolt block, bored .030 over and all the usual machine work. Decked to 9.015". Its outfitted with an Eagle light weight 4340 forged crank, 6" forged Eagle H-beams, JE nitrous series domed pistons.
Heads are in, TEA cnc ported Trick Flow heads. 220cc's, 63cc chambers, flowing 317 @ .700 lift.
Cam motion custom solid roller specs out at 263/270 .678/.686 lift 112lsa.
With a .039 felpro gasket, static compression works out to be 12.4 and DCR comes in at 9.0.
I'm still gathering all the little but expensive stuff. Got a Canton pan, Melling M155 pump, arp drive, canton 3/4" pick up, ATI superdamper, TCI flex plate (had to cut the weight off and balance it again, orderd the wrong one
) water pump (needs to go out for Powder coating), timing cover ( still ned to have w/p drive hole welded shut), Comp endurex solid roller lifters, Comp 1.6 rockers and stud girdle, custom valve cover (also need to be powder coated).
Comming together nicely. I still need to come up with an intake though. These LT4 prices are just killing me. I refuse to $800-$1000 for a damn LT4 intake. I hope that Edelbrock one comes out soon
Still need a TB, alot of safety equipment like new belts, trans blanket, new helmet, ect...
The car is getting a new Spohn TQ arm, front and rear loops and adjustable, and a 12 bolt that still needs to be rebuilt.
I have a feeling that once I get it running it will need injectors bigger that the 30lb SVO's in it now. Oh and I still have to find someone willing to tackle tuning it.
I am hoping for 550 HP out of her, and ~750 on a 200 shot.
Should make for a nice low 10 sec car on the nitrous but that might not be untill next year.
Anyone got an LT4 intake laying around they dont need?

Brian,
I'm glad your project is coming together nicely. I hope you get it running before the little one arrives. Asked me how much I've gotten done on my car since my daughter was born in April?
Later,
Steve.

Re: Update on "project SR355"
I hear ya Steve, I'm in a mad rush to get this thing done before January. I know I wont have much time after that... or money
I still have to get alot of stuff and put it together. then get it tuned... alot on my plate for a Jan deadline. And my deadline wont be pushed back, it can only come early.
Jim you'll only be backin in to me if I spray it. Otherwise I bet we will be pretty close.

My little girl is six months old now and it's much easier than when she was six weeks old.
Keep forging ahead. You're making good progress. I can only hope to get the car fired next year.
Re: Update on "project SR355"
Brian,
just make sure you have plenty of clearance wit hyour Drive shaft. My rear hoop dug into my Lingenfelter 3.5" DS.
Also, I have a spare set of Lucus 42lb injectors here if your interested.

Re: Update on "project SR355"
I going to run the stock LS1 drive shaft first. I know its a bit of a strech but I do have front and rear loops. If it breaks it shouldnt hurt anything but my ego
I was thinking the 42's would work with this set up. How much you want for them John?
